Student News – Capi Restaurant staff goes to Sazenka!

Bond English students Daiki, Ryo, and Shota, the 3 staff at Michelin 1-star Capi Restaurant in Osaka, https://capi-osaka.com,

recently went to Michelin 3-star restaurant Sazenka, https://sazenka.com, in Tokyo, where dinner is about ¥70,000 per person!

At Capi in Kitashinchi, Daiki is the head chef and owner, Shota is the assistant chef, and Ryo is the dessert chef.
Let’s look at the amazing menu they ate!

The first course was a bowl of hot somen with Chinese tea broth:

The 2nd course was pickled firefly squid, steamed in Shaoxing wine, topped with yuzu and a five-spice powder:

The 3rd course was a crispy fried clam spring-roll:

For the 4th course, they had grilled pork, marinated in honey and spices:

The 5th course was a beautiful sweet and sour pork, stuffed with strawberry!

The 6th course was jellyfish in a citrus skin:

The 7th course was a light dashi soup with bok choy and pheasant wonton:

The 8th course was steamed blow-fish with scallion and a thai fish sauce:

And the 9th course was a platter of fried blow-fish, sautéed with 3 types of peppers, and coriander:

The 10th course was boiled shark fin, in Chinese chicken broth:

The 11th course was fairly simple, white rice in Chinese chicken broth:

The 12th course was a gooey radish mochi:

Moving on to the 13th course, sweet and sour pork on the bone, first boiled, then fried:

The 14th course was sliced eggplant with sliced pork in a Chinese brown sauce:

The 15th course was cold sesame-infused noodles in sesame soup, with minced pork and scallions:

The 16th course was Chinese soba noodles in chicken soup:

The 17th course was coconut gelato over fresh kiwi and tapioca, in a kiwi-tapioca sauce:

The 18th course was sweet hot and cold anin tofu:

And finally the 19th course was mochi, stuffed with red bean, in a hot hoji tea:

Incredible dinner, and incredible experience for Daiki, Ryo, and Shota!
