Student News – Toshihiro’s study abroad trip in the UK!!

Congratulations to Bond student Toshihiro for his recent study-abroad trip to the UK!

Toshihiro arrived in the UK in early June and will be living and studying English in the city of Bristol for three months. After that he will try to move to London!

Toshihiro has been to many countries, including Germany, Liechtenstein, Italy, Vatican City, Spain, France, Austria, Belgium, Slovakia, Czech, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Australia, and America.

Toshihiro’s hobbies include eating, photography, and obviously, travel!!

Here is Toshihiro’s update from his first month in the UK:

I go to EC Bristol English Language School and I take 20 lessons per week there, and I’m going to go there for 20 weeks. I’m doing a homestay. My Host Family is very kind and friendly so I can experience life in England. Bristol is a small city where you can get around  by bus or on foot, but it’s a very nice city with good scenery and a lot of parks. I often have lunch and take a nap in the park.

The famous artist Banksy was born in Bristol, so there’s a lot of his artwork to see.

There are many sightseeing spots and I went to Clifton Suspension Bridge. It is the oldest suspension bridge in the world, about a 30-minute walk from the centre of the city. I was excited to see it for the first time. Not only can you see the bridge, you can actually walk on it, and the view from the bridge is also amazing. I’ll want to visit the bridge again and again during my stay.

Also, the harbor is near, and I like to go there to see the scenery.

I was surprised that there is much longer daylight here! At this time of year, the sunrise is about 5am, sunset is about 9pm, so the day is very long!

I have heard that UK food isn’t the tastiest around, but actually I feel like it is good! There are various foods so I’m able to eat different food every day and never get tired of it. But I have never eaten Fish and Chips, so I want to try it.

Very soon, I would like to go to Lacock village, the location of the Harry Potter series.

I was a little worried about living here because I had never been to Bristol, but I’m sure I can have a very fun life now!
